Chakra Colors: A Rainbow of InformationChakra colors correspond to the colors of the rainbow.What Are the Chakras?But first, what are chakras? Chakras are energy centers, or portals in the human energy field. Located along the central channel of the body from the base of the spine to the top of the head, they are conceived of as whirling, wheel-like vortices through which universal/cosmic energy flows into and out of a person.
There are seven major chakras, plus many minor ones. Each chakra corresponds to specific glands, organs, and facets of your being. Each also has a distinct color.About Chakra ColorsChakra colors, while usually staying within their respective color families, do change, however. For example, if you're feeling mellow, your third chakra might be a soft, buttery yellow, while if you're feeling very ambitious and energetic, it might be a bright, strong yellow.Your chakras can also contain small amounts of other colors, depending on what's going on with you. Such things as health, emotional state, emotional attachments, and thought forms can influence this. More on chakra color variations later. But first, the basic chakra colors: Colors of the Chakra
Chakra Color Variations and Their MeaningVariations in chakra color can indicate a person's present state of health and spiritual wellness.When the color of a chakra is a clear, appealing variation of the basic color, it's probably fairly healthy. Discolorations, especially muddy or gray shades or markings, can indicate imbalance, blockage, or pollution/adulteration (e.g. from thought forms, unprocessed emotions, illness, drugs, addiction, depression, etc.). Streaking or weakness of color can also indicate problems. However, flecks of other colors in a chakra whose color is otherwise rich, pure, and strong do not indicate a problem. If you sense that one of your chakras needs some support, you might spend some time sending it a clear tint of its appropriate color. Here are some possible interpretations of chakra color variations. Keep in mind that these are just suggestions, and that every person must be interpreted on a case-by-case basis. (In the chart, "unclear" means gray, blotchy, muddy, streaked, or any other distortion from a pure, clear color.) Chakra Color Variations
What If I Can't See the Colors of the Chakras?Truly, don't worry if you don't see chakra colors. For the most part, I don't "see" them. I'm very verbal, and more often when I'm working with someone's chakras, I get a word for the color (e.g. lime green), followed by a sense of the color in my mind's eye. Everyone experiences subtle energy differently, and one way is not better than another.And there are many other ways besides color to gauge the health of a chakra.
