Touch for Health® Kinesiology was founded in 1973 by John F. Thie, D.C., an American chiropractor. He was a member of the original team of chiropractors and physicians working under the direction of Dr. George Goodheart during Goodheart's development of Applied Kinesiology in the late 1960's.
Applied Kinesiology, which is still only taught to doctors and other health professionals, uses muscle monitoring to access the body's bio-computer to identify energetic imbalance, and a synthesis of techniques derived from Chiropractic, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Kinesiology (the science of movement) to restore energetic balance in the body.
Dr. Thie felt that many of the Applied Kinesiology techniques and methods could and should be made available to the average person so that people could help themselves, family members, friends, and co-workers. With Goodheart's blessing, he put together a subset of methods from Applied Kinesiology for lay persons - a complete system for activating the body's own healing power in support and maintenance of health - and called his system "Touch For Health®".
